A heritage city, Vadnagar is being developed as a tourist destination at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crores with joint efforts of the state and the Government of India.
Under the development of border tourism, a provision of Rs 35 crore was made for the planning of infrastructure facilities and national level programs under the Nadbate Seema Darshan Project.
A provision of Rs 5 crore has been made for the development of tourist facilities in Polo Forest of Sabarkantha district.

Saurashtra-Kutch
A provision of Rs 20 crore has been made for the development of facilities for tourists at Uparkot in Junagadh, Dholavira in Kutch and Mata Madh.
For development of Girnar area and operation of Girnar ropeway on the basis of PPP, works worth Rs. 30 crores have been done.
A provision of Rs 3 crore has been made for the development of Kaliyar Sanctuary in Velavadar.
Considering the number of tourists coming to see the lion, a provision of Rs 5 crore for the advanced development of Ambari Lion Safari Park in Amreli.
There is a plan to increase irrigation facilities in Kutch with additional water from Narmada floods. This scheme will irrigate 57,850 hectares of land. For which a special provision of Rs 100 crore has been made.
