Gujarat government waived 25 per cent school fees, extra-curricular activities fees and also announced for teachers
After the Gujarat cabinet meeting today, Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama made a big announcement on the issue of fees.
The state government has announced a 25 percent relief in school fees. There will be a 25 percent discount in fees for the entire academic year. No fees will be charged for other school activities. The decision of 25% fee waiver will be applicable in Gujarat Board and CBSE schools. Those who have paid more will have to refund the fee.
Protests in Ahmedabad
There is fierce protest in Ahmedabad on the issue of fee waiver. In Ahmedabad, there has been fierce opposition by parents and guardians. The posters were opposed to a 100 percent fee waiver. Bhupendrasinh protested before Chudasama was announced.

This protest was opposed by the Gujarat Jan Adhikar Manch. Protests were held outside the Patan Collector Office. The students were given an application form to the Collector demanding a 50 percent fee waiver. The movement was hinted at not giving 50 percent fee waiver to the students.
