Farmers will get a fertilizer subsidy of Rs 5,000 a year

The Agricultural Expenditure and Price Commission (CACP) has recommended the Central Government to provide Rs 5,000 to farmers in addition to the PM Kisan Sanman Nidhi (PM-Kisan). The Commission has said that farmers should be given a cash fertilizer subsidy of Rs 5,000,000 every year. The Commission has recommended that the amount be transferred directly to the farmers' bank accounts (DBT) twice. Under this, Rs 2,500 can be given in Kharif crop and Rs 2,500 in Rabi crop season.
Center will stop subsidizing fertilizer companies
The recommendation of the Commission advising the Central Government on the minimum support price for agricultural producers has been taken into consideration.
So farmers will get fertilizer subsidy of Rs 5,000 in addition to Rs 6,000 a year from PM Honors Fund. Also, fertilizer subsidy will be sent directly to the farmers' account, the central government can now meet the subsidy given to companies for selling cheap fertilizer.
So the government will give a total of Rs 11000 to the farmers every year
Due to the subsidy given to fertilizer companies, farmers are now getting urea and P&K fertilizer at cheap prices in the market. In lieu of this, the government pays the companies an amount equal to the actual price and discount plus the actual price difference.

The government gives Rs 2,000-2,000 to farmers thrice under the Prime Minister Kisan Fund. So far 90 million farmers have been registered under this scheme. If the recommendation is accepted, the government will provide farmers with a fertilizer subsidy of Rs 11,000 per year.
