Prime Minister Modi on Thursday launched the PMMSA Matsya Sampada Yojana. The scheme is expected to provide employment to 5.5 million people, and a fish cryobank will now be set up in the country. In which farmers will increase production with the help of fish sperm. Announcing the Corona Transaction Package, Sitaram said that Rs 11,000 crore will be provided for the development of marine, inland fisheries and aquaculture.



What is PMSSY's Matsya Vyavastha Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana)

Fishing is an emerging occupation in the country. The region still employs 1.5 million people. The central government wants to provide employment to about 55 lakh people in 2024-25. The government has launched a scheme to increase fish production and increase employment. Fisheries Secretary Dr. Rajiv Ranjan said that the target is to increase fish production from 137.58 lakh tonnes in 2018-19 to 220 lakh tonnes in 2024-25.

Cryobank will be formed in the country
Giriraj Singh, in collaboration with the National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, will work to set up fish cryobanks in various parts of the country. It will be the first time in the world. When the fish cryobank will be established. Which can revolutionize the fisheries sector in the country to increase fish production and productivity and which will increase the prosperity of seafarers with fish.

Who can avail this scheme?
People from the fishing community:
The benefit of this scheme will be given only to those who belong to the fishing community.

Aquaculture:
A person who belongs to the aquatic area and aspires for aquaculture. He will be considered eligible.

Fishermen affected by natural disasters
Fishermen badly affected by the natural disaster will benefit.

Farming of aquatic organisms
A person or a fisherman who wishes to engage in fisheries and knows how to cultivate other aquatic life by joining the scheme.

Fish farmers can easily get a loan of 3 lakh rupees
The government's objective behind connecting fish farmers with Kisan Credit Cards is to engage more and more people in non-agricultural activities and increase their income. Now with the help of Kisan Credit Card, farmers can meet the needs of fish, shrimp farming and money coming in during business. Farmers credit card holders can avail loans up to Rs 3 lakh at an interest rate of 4%. The farmers are being given a separate rebate in interest on timely repayment of the loan. Farmers can apply for a credit card by writing an application in the bank. The application should be accompanied by a photo, identity card, residence certificate and photocopy of the land gap.
