State Chief Minister Shrivijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel have taken many decisions for the welfare of the poor and laborers amidst the lockout due to COVID-19. Adding another to the list, CM announced that 66 lakh NFSA card holders would get an amount of Rs 1000 as financial assistance under the Gujarat Corona Assistance Scheme for the month of April. Providing details about CM's decision, CM's secretary Mr. Ashwini Kumar said, "The decision has been taken to ensure that the poor and laborers have money to take care of their expenses in the midst of lockdown.

A Common Services Portal (CSP - Digital Gujarat Portal) is a vision to provide a one-stop solution for all G2C services for the citizens of the state of Gujarat. As a part of this vision, this department intends to integrate G2C services in this application to the Home Department, Women and Child Development, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Revenue Department, Education Department and Social Justice and Empowerment Department .

An amount of Rs 1000 will be deposited through DBT for 66 lakh NFSA beneficiaries. The state government will bear an additional burden of Rs. 60 crore for this. Eligible families are not required to fill any documents for this.

“Gujarat has about two million construction workers, including both migrants and local people from other states. Among the locals, around 70% of the tribal people are from central Gujarat - areas such as Dahod and Panchmahal, ”said Vipul Pandya, director of the Mortimand Mazdoor Sangathan, a civil rights organization in Gujarat, which works for construction workers.

Of that number, about 6.34 lakh workers are registered with Gujarat Bhavan and other construction workers welfare boards.
"Although the government has claimed that this amount has not been disbursed, most tribal workers have complained that they have not received the money," he said.
