Public Health Minister in the state government Rajesh Tope said that strict legal action will be taken against whoever roams and smokes in public places in the state. The person can remain in jail for six months. If the same person commits the crime again today, he will be sentenced to two years of imprisonment. Such punishment is provided for the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Indian Penal Code.
