The Modi government is providing free gas cylinders under the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme. 30 September is the deadline for that. The plan period was extended by the Center from April to September due to the Corona crisis.


The scheme was implemented for three years in 2016, with the deadline expiring in April. The scheme, run in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has a special focus on women.

As per the plan, if you are from a poor family, you can get this free gas cylinder connection by registering. There are only 13 days left for this. Under the scheme, the government provides cylinder connections to families living below the poverty line. The main objective of the scheme is to move families from cooking gas to cooking, which produces much less pollution than stoves.

The application has to be submitted in the nearby LPG center KYC form. Name, address, Jan Dhan bank account number, Aadhaar number etc. should be given along with the form. A female member of the BPL family can apply for this. Documents include passport size photo, BPL Card, Aadhaar Card, Age Certificate, BPL Print the name in the list, photocopy of bank passbook and photocopy of ration card.
